Reaching Munnar by flight:
Looking for munnar route for your vocation. From chennai you can reach munnar via train, bus and flight. While choosing flight to your medium cochin and madurai and coimbatore are might your options.
There are direct flights from Chennai International Airport (MAA) to Cochin International Airport (COK). Cochin / Kochi airport is located outside Cochin. It is near Anagamaly.
Once you reached Cochin airport, you have to depend on a cab to reach Munnar. There is no direct bus from the airport to Munnar. Pre-paid Taxies are available from the airport for around 2400 for a munnar drop.
It is a great place to relax and unwind.
Peelamedu Airport, Coimbatore (CJB) or Madurai Airport (IXM) (both are the same distance from Munnar) is also a good option.
How to reach Munnar from the train?
Munnar is located in the center of the city, you can reach from near the train station.
Ernakulam is the nearest railway station when traveling from Chennai. There are plenty of services from Chennai to Munnar. There is no train service from Ernakulam to Munnar. After you have to depend on road transport.
Reaching Munnar by road:
There are plenty of buses from Ernakulam and it will take minimum 4-5 hours to reach munnar. The roads are not so great that the journey may be quite tiring in a public transport.

There are daily bus services from Chennai to munnar. They are luxury semi-sleepers and back breaking ordinary buses. Normally buses start in the evening and reach the munnar by morning.
The same buses will leave munnar by evening. It roughly takes around 11 hours.
